Category: interstitial units

A true floating territory for research, Vivus explores the porosity between bodies, ecosystems, forms of knowledge and technologies.

Context

The members of the creation unit brought diverse research fields on board, including biology, cyborg imaginaries, academic research, poetry, music, philosophy, dance, composition and video.

Intentions

  • Que peut une pensée et une création traversées par l’eau, la lenteur, l’interdépendance ?
  • Do we co-create differently when inhabiting the same living context - moving, uprooted, celebratory?
  • How can our situated intelligences engage in dialogue with non-human forms and with artificial intelligences, in a way that is fully embodied?
  • Can we imagine embodiment and bodiness beyond our own lived experience? Where are the edges of these imaginaries?

Format

  • A floating lab for transdisciplinary research-creation
  • Artistic direction of an immersive and shared research process
  • Activation in connection with public festivals and urban contexts

Means activated
Interstitial play, biological data collection, writing, sensory devices, performances, recordings, collective reflection and documentation of contextual interstices

This kind of unit can adapt to other ecosystems - museums, rural territories, universities and schools, public space, hybrid spaces – by creating formats for interstitial co-creation: alive, unruly, embodied. A way to bring forth new imaginaries in powerful ways.
