The artist, the warrior and the meditator
Objective
Plonger dans une pratique de création radicalement incarnée, où le seul « résultat » est l’être – en écho à la création interstitielle comme présence active au monde.
Context
In June 2025, Charlotte Hochman took part in an artistic residency outside of production frameworks, bringing together leading artists invited from around the world.
A collective yet deeply individual experience, designed as a return to the source of practice where expression comes before format, and presence comes before any artistically styled gesture.
Intentions
- To explore our postures as artists, warriors and meditators. Three states shaped by listening, attention and our ability to bear witness.
- To navigate inner and outer movements: sometimes through withdrawal, sometimes through leaning in or leaping, while being fully alive to oneself, to the world and to others.
- To find the space of our existential and creative autonomy: what does not depend on others, what endures.
Format
An immersive artistic residency, with no pressure to produce.
Des échanges multiples – verbaux, silencieux, de co-création musicale, ou par la marche – favorisant la lenteur, la qualité de présence, la résonance plus que la démonstration.
Means activated
Radical presence, attention to the present moment, practices of connection to self, others and the natural environment
Spontaneous, non-performative co-creation, far from any outside gaze, dissolving the boundary between observer and observed
Exploration des rôles mouvants – créateur, combattant, témoin – dans leur interdépendance.
A form of creation that seeks neither to dominate nor to represent, but to attune to reality, in the words of the manifesto of interstitial creation: manifesto of interstitial creation :
“It is an existential act ; not something we do, but something we are.
It asks for watchfulness, for listening, for radical presence.
It unfolds in echo to our breathing, within the texture of the moment.”
This type of experience feeds our immersive formats around attention, connection, uncertainty, and the sources of creativity and imagination.
