residencies

Objective

Offer an intensive, shared time for research and creation ; a space to explore interstices through multiple voices.

Methodologies

Our residencies bring together practitioners from the arts, sciences, and other fields to work both collectively and individually on open questions, territories, or themes. Residencies can be initiated by ce-ci or co-organized with partners, and take different formats: short, long-term or seasonal cycles.

An interstitial residency is by nature:

  • Transdisciplinary
  • Open to the unexpected
  • Demanding and attuned

ce-ci can provide:

  • Design, artistic direction, and coordination of the residency
  • Curation and selection of a diverse and balanced group of participants, including with a distinguished and undisciplined jury
  • Artistic and methodological guidance throughout the residency
  • Sensitive documentation of processes
  • A public or private restitution, adapted to the context

Challenges addressed

Residencies respond to:

  • the need for deep time to think and create differently
  • isolation within disciplines or practices
  • the difficulty to bring together diverse forms of knowledge
  • a lack of spaces for creative friction, radical listening and intellectual hospitality
  • a desire to shift the very conditions of creation

Ideal for

Cultural institutions, research spaces, collectives, or any environment open to hosting a space for deep thinking and bold creative exploration.
